Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina was established in 2003 as an independent administrative organization within the framework of institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its competences are defined by the Law on the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (‘Official Gazette of BiH, No.21/03).
Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina is competent to:
a) administer international representation and cooperation with international organizations and discharge international commitments from the field of labour and employment;
b) coordinate employment-related activities with Entity authorities and Entity employment services in projects to the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
c) gather information on labour supply and demand at the international labour market and forward the information to Entity employment services;
d) initiate conclusion and signing of international contracts in the field of labour, employment and social insurance and monitor their implementation;
e) monitor implementation of the ILO Conventions and international standards in the field of labour and employment.
